Salisbury is 20 kilometres north of Adelaide and comprises of housing, industry, retail and parks as well as being the centre for Defence establishments, industry and research facilities, RAAF Base Edinburgh, 7RAR, the Defence Science & Technology Organisation (DSTO) and several defence industry manufacturers and suppliers give it a strong military presence.
The Salisbury Sub-Branch is centrally located at 19 Park Terrace (cnr North Lane). Due to the railway crossing, which is next to the RSL (adjacent to the Rail/Bus Interchange) parking to the RSL is behind the RSL building (access from North Lane or from Orange Avenue) and also to the west.

Australia came under attack from Japanese forces on 19 February 1942. Ninety seven air attacks occured across northern Australia in 1942 & 1943. The DARWIN DEFENDERS section of this site is dedicated to the subject. February 19th is now a National Day of Remembrance.
